AAGP members will have several opportunities to be involved with the association during the Annual Meeting. Take advantage of the following to learn how the association is impacting the field of geriatric psychiatry and how you can play a part. The AAGP Board of Directors meeting is open to any member who wishes to observe.

AAGP Members' Business Meeting
Sunday, March 7 9:30 – 10:30 AM
(Open to All AAGP Members)
Come to the business meeting to hear about the ways AAGP has been working for you and to give your input into AAGP's future direction. At the business meeting, President Charles F. Reynolds, III, MD, and President-Elect, Jeffrey M. Lyness, MD, will update members on AAGP's activities, and Secretary/Treasurer Allan A. Anderson, MD will provide a report of the organization's financial position.

AAGP Committees

AAGP Committees help to accomplish the work of the association throughout the year, meeting face-to-face at the annual meeting and continuing business by conference call and email during the year. All members are invited to attend the committee meeting at the annual meeting. If you decide you would like to get more involved, talk with the chair about joining the committee (terms are three years).

Caucuses and Interest Groups

Open to all meeting attendees
AAGP's Caucuses and Interest Groups meet informally at the annual meeting to discuss topics of special interest to each group. No formal membership in the groups is required: simply stop by to join any of the discussions.

Saturday, March 6
9:30 – 10:30 AM Advanced Practice Nurses Interest Group
All advanced practice nurses who attend the AAGP meeting are invited to meet to discuss their participation with AAGP and their role in the late-life mental health care system.

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Gay and Lesbian Members' Interest Group
This forum is an opportunity for discussion of professional issues relevant to gay and lesbian psychiatrists and the roles members can take in the organization.

2:30 – 3:30 PM VA Caucus
This forum is an opportunity for those who work in the VA or are interested in the VA to discuss issues related to mental health care and older veterans.

4:00 – 5:00 PM Ethnic Minorities Interest Group
This interest group is an opportunity for discussion of professional issues relevant to minority psychiatrists and the roles members can take in the organization.

Sunday, March 7
8:30 – 9:30 AM Women's Interest Group
This forum is an opportunity for discussion of professional issues relevant to women psychiatrist and the roles women can take in the organization.

10:30 – 11:30 AM Retirement Age Caucus
This forum is an opportunity for members of retirement age, or approaching retirement age, to discuss issues related to retirement and the roles retiring members can take in the AAGP.

2:00 – 3:00 PM Affiliates Meeting
All AAGP Affiliate members are invited to attend this networking meeting, chaired by Affiliate Leader Patricia Arean, PhD, to discuss professional issues and Affiliate member group activities.
