AAGP welcomes press coverage of its Annual Meeting, and invites journalists to apply for complimentary registration. Press credentials are required. Please contact Kate McDuffie at kmcduffie@aagponline.org for more information.

Registration

Complimentary press registration to the AAGP Annual Meeting is limited to working journalists of the general and mental health/medical/aging press. Press registration will not be extended to management, publishing, marketing, advertising, public relations, or administrative staff, or to organizations that primarily produce continuing medical education (CME) audio/audiovisual, electronic, or print resources. Press credentials are required, and no more than four press badges will be given to one publishing organization.

Those who have not pre-registered may register on site and must provide documentation of their status as a journalist in the form of a business card, publication masthead listing their name, statement of credentials on letterhead, etc. AAGP reserves the right to deny press badges to non-credentialed press.

Those registered as press must wear their meeting press badge (green ribbon) during the meeting.

Guidelines

All journalists must observe the following guidelines:

  • Sessions are embargoed until local date and time of presentation.

  • Information presented at the AAGP Annual Meeting is the responsibility of its authors and is not intended to represent AAGP's official views, policies, or positions.

  • Some news may be announced or events held during the AAGP Annual Meeting by individuals or groups not affiliated with AAGP. Reporters should not report on these as happening in association with or as having any relationship to AAGP.

  • Audio- and videotaping of the sessions and other meeting events is strictly prohibited. Audio CDs will be available for purchase during and after the meeting. Session recordings may not be sold or used for the purpose of providing continuing education credits without prior written consent from AAGP. Camera crews are prohibited unless AAGP staff gives prior permission.

  • Journalists may attend sessions and events (except those limited to members) as observers, not participants. Interaction with presenters and/or other attendees is permitted before and after the session.

  • Journalists who are also staffing an exhibit must wear their exhibitor badge while at their booth. (Please note that while press have full access to meeting sessions, those with only "exhibitor" badges are not entitled to attend meeting sessions and events. Exhibitors wanting full access to the meeting must purchase a full registration.)

  • Journalists who fail to comply with these guidelines will forfeit their press credentials and admittance to the AAGP Annual Meeting. AAGP reserves the right to deny or terminate press privileges to credentialed press at any time prior to or during the meeting.
